1 (4-5 pound) precooked ham (I like spiral hams)
1/2 cup dark brown sugar
1 orange, thinly sliced
1 lemon, thinly sliced
1 (12 oz) can ginger ale
3-4 cloves

Place ham in standard slow-cooker. Arrange orange
and lemon slices alternately over ham. Sprinkle brown
sugar evenly over top of citrus slices and ham.
Then lightly sprinkle a few teaspoons of ginger ale over
brown sugar before pouring the rest of the ginger ale around
sides of ham so liquid covers bottom of the cooker.
(Evenly distribute the gingerale on all sides of the ham.)
Place three or four cloves in ginger ale, and cover slow-cooker.
Cook on high for first hour, and then low for next four or five hours.

Remove ham and place on platter. Let stand 10-15 minutes before slicing.
This is a great recipe for Easter Sunday or anytime you have company.
It allows the cook to attend Easter services at church or visit with your guest without worrying about tending to the ham. The ham comes out succulent and flavorful.
I love this, because everyone loves the lure of the aroma as they walk into the house. The leftovers make flavorful sandwiches. And bits and pieces of the leftover ham are great with homemade beans.
