Ever since Adobe introduced Flash Player 10, a lot of flash all over the internet has stopped working. If you visit a website that makes heavy use of flash or has a lot of flash games on it, don't blame the web site owner if a lot of the stuff doesn't work. It's not their fault. Flash Player 10 is the problem if you have it installed on your computer.
If you want things to start working again, you should remove Flash player 10 from your computer, an reinstall Flash Player 9. This will require a simple edit to the Windows registry. Below are the steps you need to folow:
1. Uninstall Flash Player 10 by clicking this link: http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=tn_14157
Click on the appropriate uninstaller, ie Windows or Mac. Follow the prompts to uninstall your current flash player.
2.WARNING: These changes involve modifying the System Registry. Consult your system administrator or system documentation on making changes to the System Registry prior to making these changes.
To edit the System Registry, click 'Start', then 'Run'. Enter 'regedit' in the dialog box tht pops up and click OK.
Browse to, and remove the following registry folder, then close the registry editor:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Macromedia\FlashPayer\ SafeVersions
Once this location is removed install the desired version of Adobe® Flash Player.
You can download earlier versions of Adobe Flash Player here: http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=tn_14266&sliceId=1
These are very large files so downloading will take 20 minutes or more. After downloading, decompress the zip file on your computer to a temporary location and install the player.
NOTICE: If you need more directions than this, you probably shouldn't be doing this yourself. Consult your local computer geek.
