1 package German Chocolate Cake Mix
1 package Caramels (small package)
½ cup butter
1/3 cup milk
6 oz chocolate chips
1 cup chopped nuts (pecan or walnuts)
Mix cake mix per directions. Pour half the batter into a greased and lightly floured 9x13 pan. Bake in preheated 350 degree oven for 15-20 minutes until toothpick comes out clean. Melt caramels, butter and milk together. Pour over baked cake. Sprinkle chocolate chips and nuts over caramel mixture. Pour remaining cake batter over top of all and bake 20 minutes at 250 degrees and then 10 minutes at 350 degrees.
Please note the change in temps. so you don’t overcook the cake.
