2 - 3 pounds round steak, tenderized (that means you beat it with a meat tenderizer...which looks like a hammer with serrated pounding surface. Wrap the meat in plastic wrap or wax paper first to avoid splattering yourself and your kitchen. If you don't have a meat tenderizer, use a regular mallet. OR, you can buy your steak already tenderized at the meat market.
Trim fat from around edges of steak. Cut steak into pieces about 4 to 5 inches.
1 1/2 cup flour
1 tsp. salt
1/2 teaspoon ground pepper
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon paprika
2 eggs, beaten
cup milk
Vegetable oil for frying
Mix salt, pepper, garlic powder and paprika in flour mixture. Whisk eggs and add to milk in bowl and whisk together.
Dip steak pieces in milk mixture and then in flour mixture to coat completely. Put coated pieces in hot oil and fry on medium until golden brown. Do not cook too fast or meat will not be done and or breading will burn.
Serve with cream gravy (see recipe in sauces), mashed potatoes or french fries and a veggie of your choice.
