1 package yellow cake mix
1/2 cup butter
1 egg
1 cup chopped pecans
FILLING
2/3 cup of the cake mix
1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1 1/2 cups dark corn syrup
1 teaspoon vanilla
3 eggs
Grease bottom and sides of 13x9 in pan. reserve 2/3 cup of the dry cake mix for the filling.
In large mixing bowl, combine remaining dry cake mix, melted butter and 1 egg; mix until crumbly.
Press in prepared pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 to 20 minutes until light golden brown.
Meanwhile, prepare filling. Pour filling over partially baked crust: sprinkle with pecans.
Return to oven and bake for 30 to 35 minutes until filling is set.
Cool and cut in squares. or let set about 15 minutes and serve warm with whipped cream on top or a big scoop of vanilla ice cream
