I small to medium head of cabbage
1/4 cup chopped bacon
1/2 cup chopped onion
1 teaspoon sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
Wash cabbage. Pull off any outside leaves that don't look good or are wilted. Slice cabbage away for
the core and cut cabbage into about 6 to 8 sections. The pieces will separate as it cooks.

Cook on medium high stirring from time to time. I usually cook my cabbage about 30 minutes, letting the water cook down.
Cabbage is great with beans and cornbread. You don't really need a meat dish with this, although meatloaf is wonderful.
I like to put vinegar pepper sauce on my cabbage on my plate. Don't be fooled into thinking cabbage is not good,
because it is a wonderful food and very healthy.
