6 cups shredded green cabbage or buy 2 packages already shredded slaw in produce department.
2 shredded carrot
One half cup mayonnaise
One half cup sugar
One quarter cup red wine vinegar or white vinegar
1 1/2 tsp. celery seed
Salt and pepper
Mix mayo, sugar, vinegar and seasonings together until smooth. Pour over cabbage and carrot mixture
and stir to coat. Chill for at least on hour before serving. You may think it is too dry,
but the mixture will weep while in the frig. Stir well before serving. Leftovers stay fresh for a couple days in frig if you put in a tightly covered dish. It may be a little runny the next day, so just drain it some.
This is enough slaw to serve 8 to 10 people, so cut recipe in half for smaller group.
