2 cups oatmeal
3 sticks butter
3 cups boiling water
2 cups brown sugar
2 cups sugar
4 eggs
2 tsp. cimmamon
3 cups flour
2 tsp. soda
2 tsp. vanilla
Pour boiling water over oatmeal and butter and cover. Let steam for 20 to 30 minutes.
Combine sugar and eggs. Add oatmeal mixture and beat well. Add flour, soda, cinnamon and vanilla. Mix well and pour into a greased 9x13 pan or 3 greased cake pans. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
ICING
1 stick of butter
1 cup powdered sugar
1/2 cup milk
2 tsp. vanilla
chopped pecans
Mix butter, powdered sugar and milk well; cook about 10 minutes. Add vanilla and chopped pecans.
Spread on cake.
