These are heavenly served with a slice of warm leftover ham the day after you have served ham as your main course. I don't serve them the day I serve the ham as the main dinner course the first day because everyone ends up eating a ham sandwich.

4 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
6 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1 cup melted butter
2 cups mashed sweet potatoes
1 & 1/4 cup buttermilk
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Sift flour, baking soda, baking powder,
cinnamon and salt together and set aside. In large bowl beat the brown sugar,
butter & sweet potatoes toegther until smooth. Gently stir in 1/3 of the
dry mixture, alternating with milk. Roll out dough on lightly floured surface.
Cut into circles or squares. Bake 20 minutes on greased baking sheet.
Sometimes we add zest from an orange and pecans.
