2 1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. water
1/2 c. Karo syrup
3 egg whites
2 tsp. vanilla
2 c. coursely chopped pecans
Cook syrup, sugar, and water until it forms a hard ball when dropped into cold water.
Meantime beat egg whites in large bowl of mixer. Let syrup cook 15 minutes or more before
beating egg whites. Be sure to have whites stiffly beaten when you pour syrup over them.
As soon as all syrup is poured over egg whites and well mixed, stop beater remove from bowl
add nuts and vanilla. Drop by tablespoons on waxed paper.
* You can put a half pecan piece on top of each piece of candy if you would
rather do that than put chopped pecans in the mixture.
