When I was little my mother use to make a vinegar meringue pie that had been made by her mother before her. Back in the old days if you didn't live in a tropical area you couldn't afford lemons so you used vinegar instead. My mother died when I was 12, so I never got the recipe saved into my memory like I did so many of my mothers recipes.
I have tried some in cookbooks, but so far they just don't taste as good as I remember. Maybe I am living with a childs memory and not the way it really taste.
